DESCRIPTION:

The 32 x 21 ft Living Room has nine foot ceilings and a massive stone corner fireplace 10 1/2 ft wide. Recessed lighting highlights the fireplace and the built-in cabinets along the walls on either side of it. Two antique brass ceiling fans with light fixtures are located along the central axis of the room. The South wall has a large arched picture window echoing the arched passageway from the Grand Entry Hall to the East. The North wall built-ins extend from the West wall all the way to the hearth in the Northeast corner of the room. These custom cabinets include ample bookcases, glass-front storage cabinets and closed cupboards beneath. The East wall built-ins include closed cabinets, drawers, a bar cabinet, a bartop with mirrored wall behind, and wine racks. The West wall has two doors, one going into the garage, and the other leading to the Bonus Room or Den. The Living Room is comfortable for two people relaxing in front of the home entertainment center. But it can also handle large groups. It has been used for church services and meetings as well as open house parties and pot-luck suppers for 30-40 people. Some "living rooms" are formal and cold and never get used. Not this one! This is the kind of room people gravitate to, even when they are alone. You have to experience its warmth to understand it.
